In Lærdal and the region you will find an eldorado of hiking trails of all levels of difficulty. Several hiking trails start within walking distance of the holiday park, both flat, medium and steep hikes.

By staying at the holiday park, you also have a short distance to other hiking opportunities in the area, such as Aurlandsdalen (approx. 50 km), Utladalen/Vettisfossen (approx. 50 km), Historic trails in Lærdal (Borgund), approx. 25 km. In our online store you can buy hiking maps from Lærdal, e.g. King's Road. We also sell hiking boots and clothing from, among others, Salomon, Tufte, Mizuno, Ronhil and Craft!

Hognåsen - Storehaugen

The hike starts at the ferry harbour at Lærdal Hotell, you also have the opportunity to park your car here! Some parts of the path are very steep - but are easy to walk on. Historically, the landscape was used by farmers who, produced hay in large quantities. Many of the local place names tell us about this time.

Hedler - Mjølkeflaten - Stødno

Mjølkeflaten is an open area close to the city center with good hiking trails and a beautiful view of the Sognefjord, Lærdalselva and Lærdalsøyri. The trip starts in Hedler and leads you to Stødno. Here you will find, old farm-houses and cattle pastures.

Oftedalen

From the hiking trail up to Oftedalen there is a beautiful view over the Sognefjord and to the east over the valley. The area is rich in sunshine and has an interesting cultural history. There are many viewpoints along the way. ATTENTION! The hiking trails towards Oftedalen are traditional trails up to the mountain pastures that are still in use today! The area is still gazed by flocks of sheep. Therefore, hikers are asked to keep dogs on a leash and close the gates behind them.

Vindhella - Sverrestigen

The Vindhella - Sverrestigen tour is one of the most popular tours on Kongevegen over Filefjell. It takes place in a vast historical landscape. The round trip takes Vindhella on one side and Sverrestigen on the other. You can start at both roads at Rimskjold/ Husum in the west, or at Borgund stave church in the east. Or you can start the tour where Vindhellavegen actually starts 350 meters east of the stave church centre.

King's Road over Filefjell

The 10-mile long hiking route King's Road over Filefjell takes you through some of the most beautiful landscapes in Norway. From the villages of Valdres via Filefjell and down the narrow and dramatic fjord landscape at the heart of the Sognefjord. King's Road over Filefjell has won the prestigious Europa Nostra Grand Prix (2017) and Vakre Vegars Pris (2015). In February, arrangements were also made to ski parts of the King's Road over Filefjell.

Koret - Seltåsen - Galdane

During the round trip Koret - Seltåsen - Galdane you walk on two different types of roads: King's Road from the 1790s and its successor, the Bergenske Hovedvej from the 1840s. At the same time, you pass beautiful waterfalls, old homesteads, mythical places, German military installations and of course: the famous Lærdal River (Lærdalselva).
