Hognåsen - Storehaugen
The hike starts at the ferry harbour at Lærdal Hotell, you also have the opportunity to park your car here! Some parts of the path are very steep - but are easy to walk on. Historically, the landscape was used by farmers who, produced hay in large quantities. Many of the local place names tell us about this time.
Habben- Våkeldshaugen

The path winds relatively steeply up the mountain to the top of Våkeldshaugen at 285 m.a.s.l. Here you get a great view of the Sognefjord and Lærdalsøyri. Th trip up to Våkeldshaugen takes about 30 minutes. Våkeldshaugen was formerly a meeting place for farmers who ran mountain pastures in the area.
Habben- Hognåsen

The path continues to Hognåsen, a former mountain pasture at about 910 m.a.s.l. Just before Hognåsen, at Kleivi, the path splits. From here there is a path up to the peaks as well as to Erdalsskjørelen and Lomtjørni, which served as a training ground for ice-skaters from Lærdal in the winter. There are great views from both Lærdalsskjørelen and Erdalsskjørelen. From Habben to Hognåsen it takes about 2 hours.
Habben-Våkeldshaugen-Hognåsen-Storehaugen-Sviggum
Duration: 5-7 hours.
Length/Height: 9,8 km / 910 m
From Hognåsen Alm, the path goes east at about the same height towards Storehaugen, here you get a great view of Lærdalsøyri and the fjord. The path goes via Skirset and Hardasiglet to Sviggum. The trip takes about 5-7 hours.
